In the spirit of Halloween, some of our sisters recently took a road trip for a sisterhood event at Scarowinds! Today's post is written by Dana Hurtik, our member development chair, who is responsible for creating opportunities for sisterhood events.
"For our October Deltas Only event, we traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina for Carowinds' annual Halloween festivity, Scarowinds! The drive was well worth the excitement of our night at the amusement park; nothing screams bonding (literally) like being scared by the 'dead' actors and holding onto your sisters arms for dear life while running through the haunted insane asylum.
The roller coasters seemed even more intense at night and it was great to forget about school and everything else going on for the night.
While in line for a ride, a woman standing near a group of us saw that our shirts said Tri Delta at the University of South Carolina and started talking to us. Turns out she was a Tri Delta at USC back in 1984! It was awesome to meet an alumna in such an unusual place. As scared as we were, the night was a huge success and a great time for everyone."
On Saturday, Oct. 11, our sisters danced the night away at the State Museum in the Vista. It was the last function of the semester planned by our current set of officers, and they made sure to do everything in their power to make sure we had a great time. Huge shout out to Alex Hall, our social chair, and Addision White, our risk management chair, for all of your selfless dedication and leadership over the past year!
